The dark roast coffee pods seem to taste so much better than any other brand or flavor I have ever made from home. The dark roast blend is simply the best. It is smooth, rich, and brews so quickly in our new machine, it's fantastic. I suggest using stevia powder as a natural (and chemical free!) sweetener with this blend, 30 Grams (1.06 Oz) Stevia 95% Steviosides Bulk Powder. The Senseo brand pods are available on Amazon at a decent price. Unfortunately, the Senseo pods are not as good as competing brands formerly available on Amazon such as Fratello, Halo, Millstone, etc. Of the Senseo pods, the French Roast has a richer flavor than most of the others. It is often on sale and is a bargain when that happens. I use one of these and one espresso pod in a 2 cup holder on the 2 cup medium size setting. I run water through the machine first, and I dampen the top pod (tricks I've learned from reading other reviews/tips here for this machine). After this whole process, which really only takes minimal time, it makes a very good cup of coffee, in my opinion. |
